3 Ways Traditional Education Might Not Be For You
There are millions of American students who graduate from college every year and, in most cases, you will find that the debt they leave with is not worth their efforts. They spend tens of thousands of dollars to get a degree and their jobs after graduation are never able to handle it in the right way.
Sometimes, as Mark Twain says, when the crowd are all thinking a certain way, it is a good idea to pause and reflect on their option. In the case of traditional higher education, this means questioning whether it is right for you.

Reasons Why Traditional Higher Education Might Not Be For You
Here are 3 different ways that traditional higher education might not be something you need in your life.
- Stress and anxiety of debt – For the most part, people who are in debt are more stressed and more anxious about their situation. It makes sense that they would have this problem because a burden of debt can cause a lot of heartache especially if it doesn’t go away. Student debt is one of the few types of loans that can never be removed and will stay with you forever. Avoiding this kind of anxiety is a lot more healthy and beneficial.
- Jobs that don’t require college degrees – There are a lot of jobs and professions that do not require the rigorous schooling of higher education. That doesn’t just mean jobs like plumbers or carpenters, but there are plenty of white collar jobs as well. Marketing is not a skill that should be learned in the classroom, but instead should be learned on the job marketing a specific product. The tools and lessons will be learned in the process as opposed to paying to learn theory.
- Time is of the essence – Many people want to seize the moment as much as possible and youth is the best time to do that. A person who is in their early 20s has a much better chance of success with a startup because they are able to risk more and do more without worrying about their future. In the situation where these youth want to try their own projects, it is best to take advantage of that time. Getting a degree isn’t always the most important facet of life for these purposes.
No matter what you decide to do, getting a higher education is always a traditional path that has some benefits. We are not telling you to get a traditional education or not, but it would be beneficial for you to take a closer look at what you desire in life and decide from that place.
